What is a Florida modular home
A modular home in FL is often confused with a mobile home. But a modular home is really just like a traditional home. The difference is in the method of construction, not the overall appearance.
Traditional homes are built on site and are often called “stick-built homes”. A large load of building materials is deposited at the job site and the house is constructed one piece at a time by several subcontractors. Building supplies lying around your home site are at the mercy of the elements. Lumber and drywall can become damp or warped and pipes can crack from repeated exposure to cold and heat. Damage to these supplies can result in added costs and delays in getting your home completed.
Modular homes in Florida are custom homes that are built in an assembly-line fashion in a clean, dry, climate- controlled manufacturing facility. Trained workers assemble the house in large units called “modules”; the modules are then sent to the home site. Once on site, the homes are assembled in 1-2 days and completed within a few weeks. Without the unnecessary exposure to the elements, you have a home that is done on time, in budget, and that was built with clean and dry supplies.
The end result is a home that looks and feels like a traditional stick-built home. The home is every bit as professional inside and out and offers the homeowner superior quality for less money.
